On a cloudy day in South Carolina, presidential politics came back to the 2nd primary state. The Chapin Labor Day Parade is no stranger to candidates of all sorts playing political games. Every republican candidate running in this years bloated presidential race was represented on this day, but only Rick Santorum showed up in person.
The effort of Trump's supporters seemed haphazard and last minute.
The most youthful contingent was Marco Rubio's gang, shouting, singing, and all out carrying on all the way through the parade route. Their energy was a sight to behold.
"WE FEEL LIKE IF WE CAN WIN IOWA, OUR NEXT BEST CHANCE TO GET A VICTORY IS HERE IN SOUTH CAROLINA."
– Former Pennsylvania Senator and presidential hopeful Rick Santorum
Ted Cruz supporters pass out bumper stickers and signs to parade goers.
Republican U.S. Representative Joe Wilson, and his son S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson rode in a WWII era U.S. Army jeep, gripping a gun mounted on top.
The rest of the parade was made up of the typical parade fare: marching bands, cheerleaders, sports teams, beauty queens, Boy Scouts, veterans groups, and various amounts of performers.
A local Shriners group playing as the Key Stone Cops.
Parade floats tossed out candy, for kids and adults eagerly awaiting the tasty treats.
It seems that South Carolina just can't shake, it's love for the confederacy.
